High Road Clearance
On Saturday 22nd Aug 2020 members of the Flood Risk Management Working Group set about clearing a section of the Thames leading up to the Derry Bridge. This was a investigative exercise to get a feel what manual reed removal entailed.
On the Saturday 5th Sept 2020 a Volunteer Clearance Team was organised to clear a section of the Thames at the Derry Bridge and further down the High Road. After a full morning's work the team of 14 or more volunteers had achieved a noticeable difference to the river condition, as the below photos show.
