The Derry Ditch Maintenance

From mid-August 2020 a number of volunteers from The Derry have been clearing vegetation and debris from the ditches in the section of The Derry on the approach to the Derry Bridge. Work is ongoing, however improvements have been made as shown in the below photos.

It is suspected that culverts under field entrances may be blocked, which need to be inspected and cleared if necessary. Additionally, clearing deposits of soil and silt to deepen the ditches would be beneficial for drainage and storage .
